*मनमाध्वगौडेश्वर वैष्णवाचार्य श्री पुंडरीक को स्वामी जी महाराज*
*क्या झूठ बोलना अपराध है* गुरुदेव महाराज कहते हैं कि सनातन धर्म का सिद्धांत कहता है, *सत्यम परम धीमिही* सब जगह सत्य की ही श्रेष्ठता कही है। धर्म के दस लक्ष्णों में भी सत्य सबसे श्रेष्ठ है। फिर भी श्रीमद् भागवत में एक शुक्राचार्य जी की नीति है, जिन्हें दैत्य गुरु भी कहा जाता है। उन्होंने अपनी नीति में कुछ ऐसे स्थान बताए हैं ,जहां झूठ बोलने की हमे निंदा नहीं करनी चाहिए। दोष तो नहीं, बल्कि उसे criticize करने की जरूरत नहीं है ।
पहली बात किसी भी एक अपना अपना स्वभाव होता है जब माताएं बैठकर gossiping करती हैं तो कई बार जरूरी बात घर की बाहर निकल जाती है, इसलिए gossiping के दौरान कोई ऐसी बात मुंह से ना निकल जाए तो किसी अपरिचित स्त्री से झूठ बोलना अपराध नहीं है।
दूसरी हास्य परिहास इधर-उधर मजाक मजाक में अगर बोल दिया तो कोई बात नहीं।
तीसरा शादी ब्याह में, लड़के लड़की की जोड़ी बहुत अच्छी बन रही है तो लड़की की बात थोड़ी बाद चढ़ा कर कर दी, तो कोई बात नहीं लड़की की प्रशंसा में बहुत कुछ कह दो क्योंकि जोड़ी बहुत अच्छी बन रही है तो कोई बात नहीं।
अगली है व्यापार में, सर्वाइवल में प्रॉब्लम आ जाएगी अगर तुमने बिल्कुल सत्य बोला तो बिजनेस बंद हो जाएगा। ऐसी स्थिति में भी अगर बोलना पड़ जाए तो उसे निंदा नहीं करनी चाहिए
और अगली प्राण संकट में हो निश्चित रूप से अगर किसी के प्राण संकट में हो सत्य बोलने से तो उसे नहीं बोलना चाहिए
और किसी गाय की या श्रेष्ठ विप्र की रक्षा होती हो तो झूठ बोलने में हमें कोई निंदा नहीं करनी चाहिए। यह कुछ ऐसे स्थान है जहां झूठ बोलने में कोई अपराध नहीं है

Is lieing a sin?
Our Sanatan Dharma declares, ‘SATYAM PARAM DHEEMAHI’, truth is the greatest virtue. Amongst the ten virtues of Dharma, truth is right at the top.
In the Shrimad Bhagavatam, we have certain virtues explained by Shri Shukracharya, the preceptor of the demons. He has given certain exceptions where lieing can be accepted.
It should be exceptional and not a rule.
When women gossip then in order not to reveal some family secrets, if they camouflage it and speak a lie then it is acceptable.
Second, if one lies jokingly, it is acceptable.
Third, when the betrothal of a boy and a girl is being discussed then to praise the girl knowingly that all that is an exaggeration, is accepted.
Fourth, at times one has to talk in a round about manner for serving one’s business interest. It might be necessary for one’s business.
Next, when there is question of one’s life and death then in order to save life if it becomes essential not to speak the truth, then also it is acceptable.
Lastly, to save the life of a holy cow or a great Vipra, if one needs to lie then also it is acceptable.
This in no way trying to establish a lie as a virtue but merely talking about as an exception.
