सेवा का अर्थ क्या है? शरणागत होना ही सेवा है। आप क्या दोगे भगवान को? जाओ भगवान के पास और बोलो लो महाराज मैं आपको ये दुनिया देता हूँ भगवान भी कहेंगे क्या मुझको दे रहा है ये दुनिया तो मैंने तुझको दी। अच्छा धन दे रहा हूँ, तो लक्ष्मी तो रोज चरण दबाती हैं।
अगर केवल कोई साधन ही होता उसको पाने का तो वो तो प्रक्रिया बड़ी आसान थी। कोई भी पा लेता।
अगर व्यवस्था ही पक्की होती तो उस साधन को कोई भी प्रयोग करके धनवान हो जाता।
जो व्यापार आप कर रहे हो, वही व्यापार कोई दूसरा व्यक्ति भी कर रहा है। पर एक सफल है और एक विफल है। इसका मतलब शायद वो व्यापार मात्र माध्यम नहीं है जो जीवन में धन को प्रदान करे।
हम बोले- भगवान हम आपको अपना तन देते है तो भगवान भी हँसेंगे ये क्या दे रहा है? श्रीकृष्ण भगवत गीता में कह रहे हैं- अहम् बीज प्रद पिता॥ मैं स्वयं ही बीजप्रदायक हूँ।
इसलिए सेवा का अर्थ क्या है? शरणागत होना सेवा है। न देना न लेना। लेना और देना तुमपर निर्भर नहीं करता। कई बार कुछ करना सेवा होती है तो कई बार कुछ न करना भी सेवा होती है।
शरणागत हो जाना सबसे बड़ी सेवा है |

What do you mean by ‘Sewa’? Total unconditional surrender is ‘Sewa’. What can you give the Almighty? Go to Him and say, Lord! I give you the entire world, to which He will reply, what are you giving me, I have given this world to you. Then the person says, fine, I am giving you wealth! You are giving wealth to the One whose Lotus Feet are served by Mahalaxmi!
If there was a means to attain it then that exercise would be very easy. Anyone could get it!
If the method or the arrangement was certain then anyone would have used those means and become wealthy.
What business you are doing, so many others are also doing the same. But someone is successful while the other is not. This proves that the means of doing business is not the only medium to become rich!
We might say that, Lord! We offer our body to you in service! Hearing this, the Lord will laugh and say, what are you giving me? Shree Krishna states in the Gita; ‘Aham beejprada pitta ||’ I am the implanter of the inseminator of the seed!
Then, what is the actual meaning of ‘Sewa’? To surrender completely without any conditions is ‘Sewa’. No give or take! Giving or taking does not depend on you. At times, doing something will be construed as ‘Sewa’ while at another doing nothing might also be treated as ‘Sewa’!
Just surrendering completely to the Almighty, is greatest ‘Sewa’!

श्री पुण्डरीक जी सूत्र (०४-०७-२०२३)
सेवायाः किम् अर्थः ? समर्पणमेव सेवा एव। ईश्वराय किं दास्यसि ? ईश्वरस्य समीपं गत्वा वदतु महाराज अहं ते इदं जगत् ददामि, ईश्वरः अपि वक्ष्यति, किं ददाति मम, मया भवद्भ्यः इदं जगत् दत्तम्। अहं सुधनं ददामि, अतः लक्ष्मी भवतः पादौ प्रतिदिनं निपीडयति।
यदि केवलं तत् प्राप्तुं साधनं आसीत् तर्हि सा प्रक्रिया अतीव सुलभा आसीत् । कस्यचित् स्यात्।
यदि व्यवस्था दृढा स्यात् तर्हि तस्य यन्त्रस्य उपयोगेन कोऽपि धनिकः भवेत् ।
यः व्यापारः भवन्तः कुर्वन्ति, सः एव व्यापारः अन्येन केनचित् व्यक्तिना अपि क्रियते। एकः तु सफलः एकः असफलः च। सम्भवतः अस्य अर्थः अस्ति यत् जीवने धनं प्रदातुं केवलं व्यापारः एव माध्यमः नास्ति ।
वयं अवदमः – देव, यदि वयं भवतः शरीरं ददामः तर्हि ईश्वरः अपि हसिष्यति, सः किं ददाति? श्री कृष्ण भगवद गीता में कह रहे हैं – अहं बीज प्रद् पिता ॥ अहमेव बीजप्रदाता अस्मि।
अतः सेवायाः कः अर्थः ? समर्पणं सेवा एव। न ददातु न गृह्णाति ग्रहणं दानं च न त्वयाश्रितम्। कदाचित् किमपि करणं सेवा भवति क्वचित् किमपि न करणं सेवा अपि भवति।
समर्पणं महती सेवा।
