दो प्रकार के संतों की सेवा बड़ी कठिनाई से मिलती है। एक या तो वो जो परम महान विरक्त हों। तो तुम लेकर ही क्या जाओगे? जब कुछ प्रयोग में ही नहीं लेते। और या वह जो परम समर्थवान हैं।
क्या दोगे तुम? ले गए सूती, उसने पहले से ही रेशम पहन रखा है। तुम ले गए 1 किलो बादाम, वहाँ ढाई सौ किलो बादाम का हलवा बनकर अभी भंडारे में बटा है। क्या करोगे?
या तो संत अति समर्थवान हों, या परम विरक्त परम समर्थवान होते हुए भी परम विरक्त हों। ऐसे की सेवा बड़ी मुश्किल होती है।
अगर सेवा मिल जाए तो मौन होकर करनी चाहिए। सेवा मौन ही अच्छी लगती है। जब सेवा में आवाज आने लगती है तो सेवा का स्वरूप समाप्त हो जाता है।

The service or ‘Sewa’ of these two types of Saints is very hard to get! First are those who are totally detached from the material world or ‘Param-Virakta’! What can you offer or do for such a personality? He doesn’t need anything or say he revels in such a divine state that nothing matters to him! The second category is the one who is so resourceful or has got anything or everything that one can imagine!
What can you give them? You carry some pure Khadi clothes but he is already wearing fine silk. You take a Kg. of almonds whereas just now, he has distributed ‘Halwa’ made out of 250 Kgs. of almonds in the ‘Bhandara’. What will you do?
Either the Saint is self sufficient or has everything even without asking or he is a complete renunciate. It is quite likely that in spite of being wealthy, he is a total renunciate! To serve such an individual is next to impossible.
If you are fortunate enough to be given a ‘Sewa’, please do it very quietly or observe ‘Maun’ while doing it. ‘Maun-Sewa’ is the best and most appreciable! When a lot of noise is created around the ‘Sewa’ then it’s Swaroopa gets mutilated!

द्विविधसन्तसेवा अतीव कष्टेन लभ्यते। एकः अत्यन्तविरक्तः वा । अतः भवन्तः किं स्वेन सह नेष्यन्ति ? यदा केचन सर्वथा न प्रयुक्ताः। परमशक्तिमान् च यः।
किं दास्यसि ? कपासं हृतवान्, सा पूर्वमेव क्षौमं धारयति। भवान् १ किलो बादामं गृहीतवान्, तत्र २५० किलो बादामस्य हलवा निर्मितः अस्ति, भण्डारे च वितरितः अस्ति। किं करिष्यसि ?
साधुः परमशक्तिमान् वा अत्यन्तं विरक्तः तथापि अत्यन्तं शक्तिमान् । एतादृशी सेवा अतीव कठिना भवति।
सेवा लभ्यते चेत् मौनेन कर्तव्या। सेवा मौने एव सर्वोत्तमा भवति। यदा सेवायां कोलाहलः प्रादुर्भवितुं आरभते तदा सेवारूपं समाप्तं भवति ।
