What is Deeksha or initiation? It is ‘Brahma-Sambandha’! The ‘Pushthi-Marga’ has given us this beautiful word, ‘Brahma-Sambandha’. In other words, it is ‘Brahma-Vivaah’! Like a Panditji sits and gives the hand of the girl in the hand of the groom, thus declaring them husband and wife. In the same way, after the Deeksha, the disciple and the Almighty too take on certain signs!
When a Kaami sees the vermillion filled middle parting of a lady, he will immediately understand that she is a married woman, already surrendered to her husband. In the same way;
There are certain signs which are contradictory to the different feelings which exist within us like passion, or Kama, they are such heavyweights or whatever you may call them, they get alerted.
Like, in the Mandap, first of all the vermillion is offered by the groom, in the same way the Guru applies the Tilak on the forehead of the disciple.
This individual is already surrendered to his Guru or has met someone and the first indication is that his Guru has applied the Tilak. He is decorated with the Tilak! Each Tilak is separate and unique!

दीक्षा क्या है? ब्रह्म संबंध। पुष्टि मार्ग में बड़ा सुंदर शब्द दिया ब्रह्म संबंध। या कह दो यह ब्रह्म विवाह है। जैसे पंडित जी बैठकर स्त्री और पुरुष का हाथ पकड़ा कर फेरा करवा देते हैं ऐसे ही गुरु बैठकर भक्त और भगवान का फेरा पड़वा देते हैं।
उस 3 घंटे में स्त्री और पुरुष अपने-अपने चिन्ह को धारण कर लेते हैं जिससे यह पता चल जाता है कि यह पति और पत्नी है। इसी तरह से दीक्षा के पश्चात् शिष्य और भगवान भी कुछ चिन्ह को धारण कर लेते हैं।
जैसे किसी स्त्री के माथे पर सिंदूर होगा तो कोई कामी व्यक्ति की नजर उसपर पड़ते ही वह सावधान हो जाएगा कि नहीं यह तो विवाहिता है, यह किसी को समर्पित है। ऐसे ही
कुछ ऐसे चिन्ह है जो कुछ ऐसे विरोधाभासी तत्व हैं जो हमारे भीतर हैं वह चाहे वासना कह दो, काम कह दो यह सब बड़े भारी भरकम है जो भी कह दो यह सब थोड़े अलर्ट रहते हैं।
जैसे मंडप में सबसे पहले सिंदूर लगता है ऐसे ही गुरु के द्वारा शिष्य के माथे पर सबसे पहले तिलक लगता है।
यह बंदा किसी को समर्पित हो चुका है किसी से मिल चुका है इसका सबसे पहला चिन्ह है कि उसके गुरु उसको सबसे पहले तिलक देते हैं। तिलक से श्रृंगार करते हैं। और उसके तिलक का ढंग एक अपना होता है।
