जब आप किसी चीज को पाने के लिए संकल्प लेते हो तब उसे चीज को पाने का प्रयास करते हो। पहले गाड़ी चाहिए पैसा कमाओगे फिर गाड़ी आएगी। प्रयास करना पड़ेगा।
जब आप भगवान को पाने का संकल्प कर लेते हो तब प्रयास करते हो। अध्यात्म में गौड़ीय प्रणाली के अंतर्गत क्या प्रयास है? प्रतीक्षा ही प्रयास है।
प्रतीक्षा हो यह प्रयास है। इंतजार कितना गहरा हो जाए; यही प्रयास है। मिलन कब होगा? वो ठाकुरजी जाने। इंतजार कैसा हो?
आश्लिष्य वा पादरतां पिनष्टु मामदर्शनान्-मर्महतां करोतु वा।
यथा तथा च विदधातु लम्पटो मत्प्राणनाथस्-तु स एव नापरः॥
आपको आना है, नहीं आना है, क्या कैसे करना है यह आप जानो, आपका काम जाने। हमको उससे मतलब नहीं है। यथा तथा; जो आप चाहते हैं वह करें हमको उससे कोई मतलब नहीं है।
हम एक ही चीज जानते हैं कि आप हमारे प्राणनाथ हो।

When you do a Sankalpa or take a firm decision to get something then you start working towards attaining it. If you want a car then first you will earn enough to afford one and then go out and buy it. An effort is needed!
When you do the Sankalpa of attaining God then you strive to attain Him. In spirituality, according to the Gaudiya tradition what is the effort? Prateeksha or a patient wait itself is the effort!
When you develop the art of Prateeksha, it becomes your effort. The deeper your patience; stronger is the effort. When will I meet Him? That Shree Thakurji knows best! How should be our wait?
‘Aashlishya vaa paadarattam pinnashthu maamdarshanaan-marmahattam karotu vaa|
Yatha tatha cha vid-dhaatu lampatto matpraan naathas-tu sa aeva naaparaha:||’
Whether you want to come or don’t want to come or whatsoever you want to do, you know best, it’s your headache! We are not bothered about it. Yatha Tatha; please do as you please, it doesn’t matter!
We only know this much that you are our ‘Praan-Nath’ or our life!
