भगवान के होने का दम्भ नहीं किया जा सकता। आज अगर कोई नेक सा ठाकुरमन्दिर में रख ले उनकी बढ़िया विधिवत् पूजा कर ले तो भगवान को बड़ी गुस्सा आती है अगर उन्हीं की सेवा का अभिमान कोई कर ले तो। देखो क्या बढ़िया शालिग्राम रखते हैं, क्या बढ़िया ठाकुरजी का श्रृंगार करतै है ʼʼ

ठाकुरजी की तो सेवा पक्की है पर संत के स्वागत में अगर कमी है तो हाथी बनना पड़ता है।

The existence of God cannot be flaunted with pride. Today, if someone places a beautiful idol of God in a temple and worships it with great devotion, God may become angry if that person takes pride in their service to Him. If someone boasts, ‘Look how beautifully I keep the sacred Shaligram, how wonderfully I adorn the idol of Lord Krishna,’ it displeases God.

Even if the service to God is perfect, but there is a shortcoming in honouring or serving a saint, one may face the consequences—like being reborn as an elephant.
