इत्र, मित्र, चित्र और चरित्र यह चारों बातें अपने आप खुल जाती है। इनको छुपाया नहीं जा सकता, दबाया नहीं जा सकता, कितना भी छुपा लिया जाए इत्र को कितना छुपाओगे कहीं भी जाओगे थोड़ी देर में उसकी खुशबू बता देगी। कि मैं गुलाब हूं ,कि मैं केसर हूं ,कि मैं चंदन हूं, ईत्र की तो महक अपने आप फैलती है अपनी उपस्थिति वह स्वयं बता देता है। इन चार चीजों का चयन बहुत ध्यान से करना चाहिए। जिस प्रकार एक दीवार को ठीक करने के लिए जो रिस रही हो जिस पर सीलन आ गई हो सभी व्यक्ति अपने-अपने हिसाब से उसको रिपेयर करते हैं ,लेकिन जब सही टैलेंटेड व्यक्ति ने उसका रिपेयर किया तो उसने लीकेज के सोर्स को बंद किया तो पानी रिसना बंद हो गया और दीवार धूप लगने से बिल्कुल ठीक हो गई। इस प्रकार हम अपने जीवन में सब कुछ ठीक करने के लिए बहुत कुछ रिपेयर करते हैं। अपने शरीर को स्वस्थ रखने के लिए, जीवन अच्छा करने के लिए, ऊपर का पेंट ठीक करते हैं। पर मुश्किल यह है कि थोड़ी देर तक यह ठीक रहता है, पर समस्या यथावत बनी हुई है उसकीरिपेयर तो हो गई लेकिन उस pleasure ,उसे piece का अनुभव नहीं हो सकता। इसके लिए वह उधम कर रहा था। थोड़ी देर तो अनुभव हुआ कि सब ठीक है, लेकिन फिर वही द्वंद, वही हुआ, वही समस्याएं, थोड़ा और काम किया किसी वादियों या खुली जगह पर जाकर घूम के आए ताकि मन को आराम मिल सके। इन द्वंद से छूट सके। थोड़ी देर उसे वहां भी बड़ी शांति का अनुभव होता है, पर यह असली ट्रीटमेंट नहीं था जैसे ही व्यक्ति वापस लौटकर आता है। तो वही समस्याएं, वही द्वंद, फिर से घेर लेते हैं। हमने शारीरिक स्तर पर रिपेयर करने की कोशिश की, हमने मानसिक स्तर पर रिपेयर करने की कोशिश की, हमने बौद्धिक स्तर पर रिपेयर करने की कोशिश की। जिस प्रकार हमने ईंट, प्लास्टर और सीमेंट को रिपेयर करके दीवार की लीकेज ठीक करने की कोशिश की, लेकिन जब तक सोर्स रिपेयर नहीं किया, परमानेंट सॉल्यूशन नहीं हुआ। इसी प्रकार हमने शारीरिक रूप से बहुत कुछ बदला ,मानसिक रूप से बहुत कुछ बदला, बौद्धिक रूप से बहुत कुछ बदला, श्रीमद् भागवत कहती है कि आओ इसका परमानेंट सॉल्यूशन सोर्स ढूंढे जब मन, बुद्धि, शरीर कुछ भी नहीं था छोटा बच्चा मां की कोख से पैदा हुआ उसका क्या मन है, बुद्धि है ,शरीर है। ऐसी क्या चीज थी उसके पास जब तन भी नहीं था, मन भी नहीं था, और बुद्धि भी नहीं थी तो भी उसकी किलकारियां सारे घर में सुनती थी। उसके पास अध्यात्म का सोर्स था।

Perfume, friend, picture, and character, i.e. Itra, mitra, chitra and charitra—these four things reveal themselves. When we use a perfume and go out, it cannot be hidden or suppressed. No matter how much we try to cover or hide the fragrance of the perfume, it cannot be hidden. Wherever you go, after a while the fragrance calls out loud that “I am rose,” or “I am saffron,” or “I am sandalwood.”
The fragrance of the perfume spreads on its own; its presence is very prominent.
Therefore, we need to select these four things carefully.
Just like when water is leaking and the dampness appears on the wall, we need to repair it to prevent further damage. When a skilled person repairs it, the source of the leakage is capped. When the source is closed, the water stops seeping. When the strong sun falls on the wall, it dries up and the wall is repainted.
In the same way, we carry out many repairs in our day to day life to fix the leakages. To keep the body healthy and make our life better, we just repair the outer part. But the difficulty is that it remains fine for a very short while, whereas the problem remains unresolved. The outer repair is temporary in nature and we cannot fully experience pleasure and peace. For this, we need to keep on striving.
For a short time, we feel that everything is fine. But again the same conflict, the same disturbances and the same problems arise. When we go a step further, we go to hills or open places, travel around, so that the mind may get some rest and we escape the pangs of inner conflicts. For a short while, we experience peace but this is not permanent. The moment we return, the same problems, the same conflicts surround us once again.
We tried to repair at the physical level,
at the mental level and at the intellectual level.
Just as we repair the brickwork, the plaster, and cement to fix the leakage in the wall, but until the source was not plugged, there was no permanent solution—
in the same way, we changed many things outwardly, mentally and intellectually. But,
Shrimad Bhagavat invites us: “Come, let us find a permanent solution and get to the source.”
The mind, intellect, and the body are not there, at childbirth. But what does the child possess before the body was formed? There is no mind or intellect, but immediately after birth, the cry of the baby reverberated all around! The baby cries because,
it possesses the source of spirituality.
