*मनमाध्वगौडेश्वर वैष्णवाचार्य श्री पुंडरीक गोस्वामी जी महाराज*
गुरुदेव महाराज कहते हैं की माता शब्द हम सब में गौ माता, पृथ्वी माता, भगवती माता, माता शब्द का अर्थ mother नहीं होता। जो संजोये मतलब कि जो आपकी अयोग्यता में भी आपके साथ खड़ी रहे। जिसके अंदर ममता हो, जो आपका पोषण ही नहीं करें, बल्कि आपका मल मूत्र भी साफ करें। यह पृथ्वी अपने ऊपर आपके पैरों को भी सहन करती है, इसलिए सनातन धर्मी सबसे पहले जब उठता है तो सुबह उठकर सबसे पहले धरती को प्रणाम करताहै।
*समुद्रवसने देवि पर्वतस्तनमण्डले ।विष्णुपत्नि नमस्तुभ्यं पादस्पर्शं क्षमस्व मे* ॥ मां मुझे क्षमा करना, मैं पैरों से तेरा स्पर्श कर रहा हूं। फिर भी वो उसे स्वीकार करती है इसलिए हम धरती को मां कहते हैं।

Katha-Sutra:
Gurudeva Maharaj says that in our culture, ‘Mata’ is just not mother, it signifies ‘Gau Mata, Prithvi Mata and Mata Bhagwati’. The one who nurtures us overlooking our flaws or shortcomings. The one who is filled with motherly affection and doesn’t mind cleaning the babies after they pass urine or stool.
Mother earth bears our walking over her. That is why the Sanatan Dharmi bows down to her as he wakes!

O Mother! Please pardon me because I am touching you with my feet!
She bears everything and everyone that is why we respect her as Mother.
