सेवा धन से भी होती है। धन से सेवा करने पर धन प्रसन्न होता है। खुश रहता है। सब अपनी व्यवस्था से करते हैं पर कई बार कई लोग धन से सेवा, भय से डूबकर करते हैं। कई बार हमारे उस धन की सेवा के पीछे का उद्देश्य धन की शुद्धि होता है।

पर मैं निवेदन करूँ, जब इस उद्देश्य से सेवा की जाती है तो वो सेवा नहीं होती है। ये परिणाम है।

क्या आप घर में पेड़ छाया के लिए लगाते हो या फल के लिए? छाया तो ठूंठ भी दे सकता है। अगर छाया ही लगानी हो तो दिवाल ही खींच दो, परदा ही डालदो, पेड़ लगाने की क्या जरूरत है?

एक आदमी पेड़ के नीचे बैठा तो उससे किसी ने पूछा- क्या लेकर आया तो उसने कहा- मैं छाया लेकर आया। वो बोला- बस आम का फल नहीं खाके के आए? इतने बढिया बढिया आम लग रहे थे ऊपर। बिलकुल रस से भरे। तु तो चूक गया। तो फल खाने जाता, छाया तो अपने आप मिल जाती।

धन से सेवा करने जाएगा तो धन की शुद्धि अपने आप होगी। शुद्धि का उद्देश्य नहीं हो सकता। जब हम धन की शुद्धि का उद्देश्य लेकर खर्च करते हैं तो कई बार खर्च करने की गफलत ज्यादा होती हैं। उसको उचित जगह व्यवस्थित किया जाय इस बात की योजना में कमी रह जाती है।

Sewa can also be performed by giving money. When you do the service with money, then the ‘Dhan-Devta’ is pleased. He is happy! Everyone does it according to one’s capacity but at times, many people do it out of fear. When fear is the reason, then this service just cleanses your wealth!
I would like to make this submission that the service done with this objective is not ‘Sewa’. This is just the result!
When you plant a tree at home, is it for the shade or to get the fruit? The shade can even be given by any non fruit bearing tree. If you want some shade then construct a canopy or pull a tarpaulin, why take the trouble of planting a tree and looking after it?
A person was sitting besides a tree, a passerby asked him, what have you got? He says, I have got the shade! The stranger asks, don’t you want the sweet mangoes which are hanging down from its branches? They are so ripe and juicy! You seem to have missed the bus, my friend! If you would have come for the fruit then the shade would be there even without your wanting it!
When you do any service which involves spending some money, the cleansing of your wealth is done automatically. You cannot ascribe an objective for cleansing. When you spend with the objective that this will cleanse my wealth then at times, you may spend it wrongly. You may spend it for something which was unworthy or give it at a wrong place!

श्री पुण्डरीक जी सूत्र (०१-०७-२०२३)

सेवा अपि धनेन क्रियते। धनं तदा सुखी भवति यदा भवन्तः धनेन सह सेवां कुर्वन्ति। सुखी तिष्ठति सर्वे स्वव्यवस्थानुसारं कुर्वन्ति, परन्तु कदाचित् बहवः जनाः भयेन मग्नाः धनेन सेवां कुर्वन्ति। कदाचित् अस्माकं धनसेवायाः पृष्ठतः प्रयोजनं धनशुद्धिः एव ।

किन्तु याचयामि, यदा एतदर्थं सेवा क्रियते तदा सेवा न भवति। इति परिणामः ।

छायायै वा फलार्थं वा गृहे वृक्षान् रोपयसि ? स्तम्भः अपि छायां दातुं शक्नोति। यदि केवलं छाया एव प्रदातव्या तर्हि भित्तिं अधः आकृष्य पर्दां स्थापयतु, वृक्षरोपणस्य किं आवश्यकता?

यदा कश्चन पुरुषः वृक्षस्य अधः उपविष्टः आसीत् तदा कश्चन तं पृष्टवान् – किं त्वया आनयितम्, ततः सः अवदत् – अहं छायाम् आनयम्। सः अवदत् – केवलं आमफलं खादित्वा न आगतः? उपरि आम्राः एतावत् उत्तमाः दृश्यन्ते स्म। सर्वथा रसयुक्तम्। त्वं चूकितवान् अतः सः फलं खादितुम् गमिष्यति स्म, सः स्वयमेव छायां प्राप्नुयात्।

यदि भवान् धनेन सह सेवां कर्तुं गच्छति तर्हि धनशुद्धिः स्वयमेव भविष्यति। शुद्धिः लक्ष्यं न भवितुम् अर्हति। यदा वयं धनशुद्ध्यर्थं व्यययामः तदा बहुवारं व्ययस्य दोषाः अधिकाः भवन्ति । तत्रैव व्यवस्थापयेत् इति योजनायाः अभावः ।
