कामी कौन और प्रेमी कौन? लगेंगे सब एक से पर कृष्णदास कविराज इसे महान व्याख्या से व्यवस्थित कर दिया है-
आत्मेन्द्रिय प्रीति इच्छा तारे बोली काम।
कृष्णेन्द्रिय प्रीति इच्छा तारे बोली प्रेम॥
जिसके हृदय में अपने को सुख करने की अभिलाषा हो वो कामी है, प्रेमी तो स्पष्ट है जो श्रीकृष्ण सुख का विचार करे वही प्रेमी है।
हम अगर किसी प्रेमी के साथ जैसे कोई पत्नी अपने पति से प्रेम करती है और उस पति के साथ व्यवहार करते समय भी वो हल्का से ये विचार कर ले कि मेरे इस व्यवहार से क्या श्रीकृष्ण प्रसन्न होंगे? तो उसका उसके प्रति किया हुआ व्यवहार भी सद्धर्म हो जाएगा।
यही उसकी असाधारण बात है।

Who is a ‘Kami’ and who is a ‘Premi’? They seem to be similar but Shree Krishnadas Kaviraj has defined it very beautifully-
‘Atmendreeya preeti ichha taarey boli kama|Krishnendreeya preeti ichha taarey boli prema||’
The one who seeks to satisfy one’s own desires is a Kami and the one who’s sole objective is to please Shree Krishna is a premi!
For example, speaking generally, there is a couple and the wife loves her husband, while doing so, even for a moment if she thinks that will this worldly act of mine please the Lord? In this case, even this very normal loving behavior of hers will become ‘Saddharma’!
This is the most intriguing thing!
