मन्दिर को बनाना केवल उपासना का केन्द्र नहीं है। सामाजिक दृष्टि से, व्यवहारिक दृष्टि से, लौकिक दृष्टि से, व्यापारिक दृष्टि से एकमात्र मन्दिर ऐसा है जो समाज के प्रत्येक व्यक्ति का प्रयोग करता है।
कोई ऐसी ना इंडस्ट्री है, ना फैक्ट्री है, यहाँ मिस्त्री भी चाहिए, कंस्ट्रक्शन रिलेटेड सामान चाहिए, भोजन रिलेटेड सामान चाहिए, अन्य क्षेत्र के लिए किसान से समान होगा, किसान का पोषण होगा, बनाने वाले का पोषण होगा, खिलाने वाले का पोषण होगा।
इतना ही नहीं, यहाँ ठाकुरजी की पोशाक बनती है तो जो फैब्रिक इंडस्ट्री है उसका भी उपयोग होता है। जो उसकी नक्काशी करते हैं, कढ़ाई करते हैं उनका भी प्रयोग होता है।
इतना ही नहीं भगवान के आभूषण बनते हैं। उस क्षेत्र का भी प्रयोग होता है। संगीत का प्रयोग होता है। समाज का हर वर्ण, हर जाति हर कला, हर व्यवस्था का भारत के आप किसी भी मन्दिर में चले जाइए। अरे एक-एक मन्दिर पूरे शहर, पूरे नगर को रोजीरोटी देता है।
कितने स्थानों पर हमने देखा है, पूरे पूरी को भगवान जगन्नाथ चलाते हैं, पूरे नाथद्वारा को श्रीनाथजी चलाते हैं। अरे मैं एक बात कहूँ पूरे हिमालय को बद्रीनाथ और केदारनाथ देते हैं रोजीरोटी। इसलिए मन्दिर बनाना कोई सामान्य बात नहीं है।
समाज के हर वर्ग का प्रयोग करता है मन्दिर। उसको एंप्लॉयमेंट देता है, उसको आधार देता है। अरे जो काम करे उसका भी पोषण होता है और जो कुछ ना करें उसको भी मन्दिर कुछ न कुछ खाने को अवश्य दे देता है। ऐसा कौन सा व्यक्ति होगा जो मन्दिर के पास ही बैठ जाए तो भी उसका इस बल पर घर न चल जाए।
इन सब के साथ-साथ उपासना के बल से इस लोक और परलोक दोनों को मंदिर सुधार देता है। इसलिए मंदिर बनाना कोई साधारण बात नहीं है। बहुत बड़ा विषय है।

To construct a temple is not just making a place of worship. From the social point of view, from the behavioural angle, from the profane viewpoint or even from the economic stand point, the temple is one place which is open to all!
There is no industry or a factory which is not benefitted by it, you need a mechanic, construction material, ingredients to cook food, it develops the agricultural field, the farmer grows the food grains, which in return feeds him and his family, it feeds the one who cooks the food and it nourishes the ones who serve it!
Not just this, here, ‘Shree Thakurji’s Poshak’ is made which helps the textile industry. The artisans are engaged in doing the embroidery, Zardozi work as well as the tailor who stitches them!
Over and above all this, the Lord’s ornaments are made. The jewellery business gets a fillip. The music industry too benefits from it! Each and every section of the society, irrespective of their caste, creed or religion are supported by the temple or any place of worship in our country! It will not be out of place to mention that one temple or a Divine abode provides for the entire town as well as the surrounding areas!
I have seen it as well as experienced it that the entire town of Puri is run by Shree Jagannath, similarly the entire ‘Nathdwara’ is run by ‘Lord Shree Nathji’! It will not be out of place to mentiom that the entire economy of the Himalayan state is dependent upon Shree Badrinath and Kedarnath! That is why, constructing or establishing a temple is not a small thing!
The temple makes use of the people from each and every stratum of the society. It provides employment to so many people and supports so many families. Arrey! It feeds the one who works for the temple and even feeds and supports who don’t do anything at all! Tell me one person who sits outside the temple and is not able to manage enough to at least feed one meal to his/her family?
Over and above this, the power of the worship in the temple improves the present as well as the future! So, to construct a temple is not an easy nor an ordinary task! It is a very noble act!
