गौचारण का अर्थ क्या है? गौ मतलब इंद्रियाँ। तुम आँखों को बताओ क्या देखना है। यह गौचारण है। तुम कानों को बताओ क्या सुनना है यह गौचारण है। आँख हमें कहीं ले जाए इसका मतलब तुम मालिक हो या आँख मालिक है? और तुम आँख को कहीं ले जाओ तो पता चले मालिक कौन है।
हल्की सी आवाज हो कान एकदम घूमने चला जाता है। कान जाता है तो आप भी चले जाते हो, फिर उसे लेकर आना पड़ता है। श्रीकृष्ण गौचारण करते हैं।
जो आनंद के चरम सीमा पर पहुँचना चाहता है उसको यह प्रतिभा कमानी पड़ेगी।
आप अपने एक्जिस्टेंस के सर्वेंट हो या आप अपने एक्जिस्टेंस के ऑनर हो? यह दोनों में बहुत फर्क है। हमें छोटी-छोटी चीज भी परेशान कर सकती है। परेशान करने के लिए भी तो कोई औकात वाली चीज होनी चाहिए।
हमें सावधान रहना चाहिए कि क्या परेशान करे। ऐसा ही थोड़ी ना परेशान होना चाहिए। वह आया, ऐसे देखा और हम परेशान हो गए! लोग बड़े आसानी से परेशान हो जाते हैं। प्रसन्न बड़ी मुश्किल से होते हैं पर परेशान बड़ी आसानी से हो जाते हैं।
अगर एक्सटेंडर्ड बनना है तो दोनों में भी एक्स्टेंडर बनो। बोलो एक गाली में परेशान नहीं होते। कृष्ण ने एक्सटेंडर्ड बनाया। 100 गाली दे तब परेशान हो सकता हू। 1 2 में परेशान नहीं हूंगा। तो गाली देने में भी कितना संस्कार चाहिए कितना सोचना पड़ेगा।
यह जो रोज गाली देता हो वह भी कंटीन्यू गाली नहीं दे पाएगा। किसी भाषा में 100 गाली के अक्षर भी नहीं है। क्या एक्सटेंडर्ड बनाया है भगवान ने।।
पुरुष सूक्त के दस श्रुतियों से प्रसन्न हो जाते हैं भगवान, पर नाराज करना हो तो गाली भी कम से कम 100 देनी पड़ेगी। गाली सुनते भगवान खड़े हैं सामने, गिन रहे हैं। एक्सटेंडर्ड बनाना चाहिए।
कोई इंसल्ट करे उसका भी तो एक एक्सटेंडर्ड हो। कोई भी चलता फिरता आदमी इंसल्ट कर दे? ठाकुरजी कहते हैं- कोई मेरा इंसल्ट कर ही नहीं सकता। इसलिए परमात्मा कहीं भी सहज बैठ जाता है।
यही श्रीकृष्ण हैं कभी-कभी किसी के झोपड़े में तेल के दीए के सामने बैठा देखा है, यही श्रीकृष्ण हैं जो सोने के सिंहासन पर हीरों के दीए में आरती लेते देखा है।

What is the meaning of ‘Gau-Chaaran’ or cow grazing? ‘Gau’ means the senses. You instruct your eyes what to see, this in a way is ‘Gau-Chaaran’. You tell your ears what to hear, this too is ‘Gau-Chaaran’. If your eyes see or lead you to a place where you shouldn’t have been then who is the Boss? Meaning, you or the eyes? If it is the other way around i.e., you tell the eyes where to go and they lead you there then in this case, you know who is the Boss?
With even a faint sound, the ear suddenly turns towards it and goes there. When the ears go, automatically you too go following it but then you need to force it to get back! Shree Krishna does the ‘Gau-Chaaran’!
The one who wants to attain the highest peak of Ananda, will have to earn this splendour!
Are you the servant of your existence or is it your servant? There is big difference between the two! Even little things tend to upset us no end! After all, there should be something really big to disturb a great personality like yours!
We need to be careful about various disturbances. We should guard against these negative forces and should not get disturbed. Someone came and just looked at you awkwardly and you got perturbed? People get upset very easily! They get pleased with great difficulty but get upset for nothing!
If you want to become a standard or an example then become one in either of the cases. Say, I will not loose my temper just with a little abuse! Shree Krishna set a limit that up to a hundred abuses, He will remain unaffected, if ten-twelve were hurled at Him, He would just ignore but once the threshold is crossed then He will do as He deems fit! In such a case, the abuser will also be forced to think and he will have to stand up to His patience!
One who is a habitual abuser will also not be able to abuse continuously. It is very difficult to find a hundred abuses in any language. What a standard has been set by the Lord!
The Lord is pleased with just ten ‘Shrutis’ of the ‘Purusha-Sukta’ but to annoy Him, you have to conjure a hundred abuses! He goes on taking abuse after abuse very sportingly with His beatific smile on His face. He has set the limit, a standard for His patience!
If someone insults you, even the insult has to befit your stature! Just any passerby will pass a snide remark! O’ come on! The Lord says that there is no one born on this earth who can insult Him. That is why, he is so care-free and sits wherever He likes, goes wherever He wants, does whatever He pleases!
On one hand, this very Lord Krishna can be seen seated in front of a tiny oil lit lamp in a hut with a hand under his chin smiling and on the other He is seated on a golden throne in a palace and the Arti is being performed with jewelled lamps!
