ज्ञान की पूर्णता तभी संभव है जब वैराग्य की प्राप्ति हो जाए। अन्यथा ज्ञान पूर्ण रूप से ज्ञान कैसे होगा? अगर वह वैराग्य को पोषित ना करें। वैराग्य के भी पूर्णता अंततोगत्वा ज्ञान की प्राप्ति में ही है। यह दोनों एक दूसरे के रूपक हैं। पूर्ण वैराग्य भी स्वाभाविक रूप से ज्ञान की प्राप्ति करा देता है और पूर्ण ज्ञान भी प्रसाद रूप में वैराग्य को प्रकट कर देता है।

पर एक बडे़ आश्चर्य की बात है

यह दोनों पूर्ण रूप से प्रयास करने के बाद भी भक्ति को प्रकट नहीं कर सकते। आवश्यक नहीं है कि पूर्ण ज्ञान और पूर्ण वैराग्य भक्ति को प्रकट कर सके। परंतु संभव है अगर हरि गुरु कृपा से भक्ति का प्रकट हो गया तो जैसे श्रीमद् भागवत का एकादश स्कंद कहता है

जब किसी को भूख लगे और वह कौर तोड़कर मुख में भोजन रखता है तो भोजन रखते ही उसको संतुष्टि की प्राप्ति होती है, उसको शरीर में बल पुष्टि मिलती है और इसके साथ-साथ उसकी क्षुधा निवृत्ति होती है। ‘‘तुष्टि-पुष्टि क्षुधपायोनुघाशम्’’।।

इस प्रकार से अगर परम भक्त की प्राप्ति हरि गुरु कृपा से हो जाए तो तुष्टि और पुष्टि की तरह प्रसाद रूप में स्वाभाविक रूप से ज्ञान और वैराग्य की भी प्राप्ति हो जाती है।

इसलिए भक्ति आवश्यक ज्ञान और भक्ति आवश्यक वैराग्य जब प्राप्त होता है तो अविछिन्न रहता है। मतलब भक्ति के लिए उपयोगी जितना ज्ञान है उतना सही रहता है। भक्ति का अर्थ ज्ञान और वैराग्य की सेवा करना नहीं है, भक्ति का अर्थ श्यामसुंदर की सेवा करना है,भगवान की सेवा करना है।

The essence of knowledge can only be achieved when one attains detachment or vairagya. Without detachment, how can knowledge be complete? True knowledge inherently nourishes detachment. Similarly, the ultimate fulfillment of detachment lies in the attainment of knowledge. These two—knowledge and detachment are complementary to each other. Complete detachment naturally leads to the self realization and complete knowledge manifests detachment as a divine blessing.

However, a remarkable truth is revealed here:

Even with the perfection of both knowledge and detachment, devotion or bhakti does not arise naturally. It is not guaranteed that perfect knowledge and detachment will manifest devotion. Yet, when by the grace of Shree Hari and SadGuru, devotion awakens in a person, then as described in the eleventh canto of the Shrimad Bhagavatam, it brings in a complete transformation.

The text explains this with an analogy:

When a hungry person takes a morsel of food and places it in the mouth, three things happen simultaneously—satisfaction or ttushthi is achieved, strength or pushthi is restored and hunger is alleviated. Similarly, when the divine grace bestows pure devotion, knowledge and detachment arise naturally and effortlessly, much like satisfaction and nourishment after eating.

Thus, devotion becomes essential. The knowledge and detachment that accompany true devotion are continuous and unwavering, but they serve a limited purpose. Knowledge and detachment are not the ultimate goal of devotion. Devotion does not exist to serve knowledge and detachment. Instead, devotion means serving the Divine, serving Shree Shyamsundar.

This teaching emphasizes that the ultimate path lies in total unconditional surrender and devotion to the Divine, attained only by the divine grace of our Sadguru and God.
