गुरुदेव महाराज कहते हैं कि सब लोग उनसे पूछते हैं कि तिलक लगाने से क्या होता है। आप लगाओ, फिर वह छीन ले तो अलग बात है। *छाप तिलक सब छीनी तोसे नैना मिलाइके* तुम उसे छीनने का मौका तो दो। तुमने खुद ही छीन लिया, तो वह कहां से होगा। गोपी ने माखन बनाया, टांगा और खुद ही चुरा लिया, तो ठाकुर जी आकर भी क्या करेंगे। इसने कुछ बना कर रखा ही नहीं, कि मैं छीन लूं। पर तुम लगा के आओ फिर पता चले कैसे छिनता है। ऐसे नहीं कि छीन लिया, बह गया। महाराज जी कहते हैं कि जब परिक्रमा में गए तो तिलक लगा कर गए थे, लेकिन जब वापस आए तो तिलक बह गया था, श्री जी गायब थी। तब मन किया कि गाऊं *छाप तिलक सब छीनी तोसे नैना मिलाइ के*

People ask that why should we apply the tilaka and what is the benefit?
There is this famous line, ‘Chhap tilak sab chheni tosey naina milayikay’, something can only be taken away if it is there. The Gopi prepared the Maakhan, put it away and then removed it from there, now what will Shree Thakurji take when He comes?
You apply the tilaka first then let’s see who takes it away? It is not taken away, it got washed away.
When we had gone for the Parikrama, the tilaka was there but when we came back it was washed away, the Shreeji was not visible. Then I remembered this line, ‘Chhap tilaka sab chheni tosey naina milayikay’!
