*सेवा में होने वाले अपराध*
*मनमाध्गौडेश्वर श्री पुंडरीक गोस्वामी जी महाराज*
महाराज श्री कहते हैं की भक्ति में तीन प्रकार के अपराध हैं।
पहला नाम अपराध है, दूसरा सेवा अपराध है, और तीसरा वैष्णव अपराध है। इन तीनों के अलावा और कोई अपराध नहीं होता।
नाम के प्रति किया गया अपराध है, वैष्णव के प्रति किया गया अपराध है, और सेवा के प्रति किया गया अपराध है।
*नारायण कवच का पाठ करने से सेवा के प्रति किए गए अपराधों से निवृत्ति हो सकती है।*
32 प्रकार के सेवा अपराध शास्त्रों में लिखे गए हैं।
जिन में मुख्यता अपराध है, अगर आपके घर में विग्रह सेवा है, ठाकुर सेवा है, तो होते हुए भी विशेष उत्सव आप ना करो तो यह सेवा में अपराध है। जैसे जन्माष्टमी है, तो जन्माष्टमी का उत्सव ना करो, रामनवमी है तो रामनवमी का उत्सव ना करो, चाहे छोटा ही सही लेकिन उत्सव जरूर करो। विशेष उत्सवों को ना करना, सेवा अपराध में बहुत बड़ा अपराध माना जाता है।
दूसरा अपराध है भगवान के मंदिर में जाकर भगवान को प्रणाम ना करना, जो कि आजकल आम बात है। हम मंदिर में प्रवेश करें, और वहां कोई संत आ जाए ,कोई मुख्य आदमी आ जाए, तो हम भगवान को झट से भूल जाते हैं, और उसको प्रणाम करने लगते हैं। यहां तक कि ठाकुर जी की ओर पीठ करके खड़े हो जाते हैं। जब दुनिया का मालिक सामने बैठा है, दुनिया बनाने वाला सामने बैठा है, तो हम दूसरे को क्यों देखें। इसलिए किसी भी मंदिर में जावे तो अगर कोई आ जाए तो श्री ठाकुर जी की और ही देखें ,केवल उन्हीं का दर्शन करें, अगर हमें संत से मिलना है या उससे प्रणाम करना है, तो कृपया मंदिर परिसर के बाहर जाकर प्रतीक्षा करें जैसे ही वह बाहर आवे तो उन्हें प्रणाम करें।
तीसरा है, श्री ठाकुर जी के मंदिर में जाकर पैर खोल कर बैठना, यह भी सेवा अपराध की श्रेणी में आता है। यही भाव हमारा कथा में भी होना चाहिए क्योंकि भागवत जी के सामने भी पैर खोल कर बैठना अपराध ही है।
एक और है कि भगवान के अगर दर्शन खुले हो तो उनके सामने आपस में बातचीत करना यह भी सेवा अपराध है।
एक और है कि अगर भगवान के मंदिर में दर्शन खुले हो तो किसी दूसरे के ऊपर ज्यादा अनुग्रह करना यह भी सेवा अपराध की श्रेणी में आता है।
एक और बड़ा अपराध है, कि जब हम भगवान की परिक्रमा करें तो एक परिक्रमा पूरी होने के बाद रुक कर भगवान को प्रणाम करें। लगातार परिक्रमा ना करें यह भी सेवा अपराध की श्रेणी में आता है।
एक है कि भगवान के दर्शन खुल रहे हो, और उनके सामने सो जाना, यह भी बहुत बड़ा अपराध है।
कहीं भी अगर भगवान के दर्शन खुले हो तो उनके सामने भोजन करना,प्रसाद पाना, यह भी एक सेवा अपराध है।
एक हाथ से प्रणाम करना, यह भी सेवा अपराध की श्रेणी में आता है। प्रणाम हमेशा दो हाथ जोड़कर ही किया जाना चाहिए।
एक और है, कि अगर भगवान के दर्शन खुले हैं, तो उनके सामने जोर-जोर से चिल्लाना, शोर मचाना, यह भी सेवा अपराध है। कई बार तो व्यवस्था करने वाले भी चिल्लाते हैं।
अगला है ठाकुर जी के सामने झूठ बोलना और एक और है कि ठाकुर जी के सामने कलह करना यह भी सेवा अपराध है।
अगर भगवान ने सामर्थ दी है तो यह कहकर कि ठाकुर जी सिर्फ भाव देखते हैं, विधि को निषिद्ध करना यह भी सेवा अपराध है।
एक सबसे बड़ा सेवा अपराध है, अगर आपके घर में ठाकुर सेवा है, विग्रह सेवा है चित्रपट सेवा है तो भगवान को अर्पित किए बिना किसी भी चीज को स्वीकार करना यह भी सेवा अपराध है।
एक और बड़ा सेवा अपराध है, कोई भी ऋतु का फल आए तो सबसे पहले फल ठाकुर जी को अर्पित करना चाहिए उस प्रसादी को फिर हमें ग्रहण करना चाहिए।हम हमेशा कहते हैं कि भगवान तो भाव के भूखे हैं लेकिन वह भाव भी तो किसी विधि से दिखाया जाना चाहिए।
जैसा कि सबको विदित है एक सेवा अपराध है कि ठाकुर जी के सामने उनको पीठ दिखाना, यह भी सेवा अपराध है।
एक और सेवा अपराध है ,कि जिस भगवान की स्तुति हम कर रहे हैं, वह तो कर ही रहे हैं, लेकिन उनकी तुलना में दूसरे भगवान की निंदा करना की सबसे बड़ा सेवा अपराध है।
एक और सेवा अपराध है ,कि हम नित्य प्रति गुरुदेव को मन ही मन प्रणाम नहीं करते, तो यह भी सेवा अपराध माना गया है।
एक सच्चे वैष्णव को इन सभी सेवा अपराधों से बचकर रहना चाहिए तभी वह सेवा में और भक्ति में अग्रसर हो सकेगा।

Offences Committed during Sewa.
Maharajshri says that there are three types of offences that can occur on the path of devotion or Bhakti.
The first is Namaaparadh, the second is Sewaaparadh, and the third is Vaishnavaparadh. These are the three categories of offences.
It is said that the recitation of the Narayan Kavach can absolve us of the offences committed in Sewa.
The scriptures describe thirty-two different types of service offences. Among them, one of the principal offence is that if there is deity worship in our home or Shree Thakur vigraha sewa and we fail to observe the special festivals, it is a grave lapse in service. For example, on Janmashtami or Rama Navami or Mahashivratri, we do not celebrate it, even though if the celebration is small, it must be performed. Neglecting the observance of the sacred festivals is regarded as a serious offence in service.
The second offence is to enter the temple of the Lord and not offering obeisance, a practice which has unfortunately become very common today. When we step inside the temple and if a prominent person comes, we instantly forget the Lord and begin bowing to that individual even turning our backs toward Shree Thakurji. When the Master of the universe, the Creator Himself, is seated before us, why should our attention wander elsewhere? Therefore, whenever we enter a temple and if someone else arrives, our attention should be Shree Thakurji alone. If we wish to meet or greet the person who is coming, we should wait outside the temple precincts and offer our respects only after he comes out.
The third offence is to sit in the temple of Shree Thakurji with legs stretched out, this is also a service offence. The same reverence must be maintained during sacred discourses, i.e. to sit with legs outstretched before Bhagavatji is improper.
Another offence is to engage in casual conversation among ourselves during darshan.
When the darshan is open and we show greater attention or favour to some other person instead the Lord, this is a service offence.
A further serious lapse occurs when we perform the circumambulation of the Lord and after completing one round, we do not pause and offer obeisance. To continue circling without stopping is also considered an offence.
To fall asleep before the Lord while the darshan is open is counted as a grave transgression.
Likewise, to eat food or partaking prasad in front of the deity when the darshan is open is a service offence.
Offering Pranams with one hand is also improper; obeisance should always be made by joining both the hands.
To shout or create disturbance in the presence of the Lord is also an offence; often those managing the arrangements are also seen raising their voices.
To lie before Shree Thakurji, or to quarrel in His presence, is also considered a service offence.
If, despite of having the means we neglect the prescribed rituals with the excuse that, ‘Thakurji only sees the feeling and not the means,’ this too is a service offence. True feeling must be expressed through proper discipline.
One of the gravest offence is this; if there is Thakur sewa or vigraha sewa or a worship of the sacred image in our home, eating anything without first offering it to the Lord, is a serious lapse in service.
Another important rule is that whenever the fruit of a new season arrives, it should first be offered to Shree Thakurji and only then partaken as prasad. We often say that the Lord only seeks devotion, but even the devotion must be expressed through a proper and a reverential mode.
Standing with one’s back towards Shree Thakurji is also a service offence.
Yet another offence is to praise one form of the Lord while disparaging another. To compare and demean any manifestation of the Divine is considered a great transgression.
Moreover, if we do not offer Manasik Pranams to Gurudev each day, this too is regarded as a service offence.
A true Vaishnava must remain vigilant against all these lapses. Only by avoiding such offences can one advance steadily on the path of service and devotion.
