*कथा सूत्र*
*मनमाध्वगौडेश्वर वैष्णवाचार्य श्री पुंडरीक गोस्वामी जी महाराज*
*भक्ति के चार लक्षण*
महाप्रभु जी कहते हैं एक भगवान के भक्त में चार लक्षण होते हैं ।
*तृणादपि सुनीचैन तरोरपि सहिष्णुना अमानी ना मानदेन कीर्तनीय: सदा हरि*
भगवान पर भरोसे वाले व्यक्ति में बहुत धैर्य होता है। ठाकुर जी पर जो भरोसा रखते हैं उनके कुछ लक्षण होते हैं।
सबसे पहली बात है, भगवान पर जिसको पक्का भरोसा है उसे नींद बहुत बढ़िया आती है । प्रेम करने वालों को नहीं आती। भरोसे और प्रेम में अंतर होता है। हरिराम व्यास जी कहते हैं, *व्यास भरोसे कुंवरि के सोवत पांव पसार*
दूसरी बात कि भक्त अकारण प्रसन्न हो सकता है। भरोसे वाले व्यक्ति की प्रसन्नता को कोई कारण नहीं चाहिए। भरोसे वाले व्यक्ति में बड़ा अचूक और स्थाई धैर्य होता है। ठाकुर जी के चरणों पर जिसका भरोसा हो, उसमें बड़ी धैर्यता होती है ।यह सब भक्तों के गुण है ।
*तरोरपि सहिष्णुना अमानी ना मान देंन*
पहली बात स्वभाव में धैर्यता।
दूसरी बात सरलता और
तीसरी बात वह दूसरों को मान दे। अमानी ना मान देन।
चौथा सबसे श्रेष्ठ गुण जो महाप्रभु जी ने कहा *अमानी ना पर मान देन* जो स्वयं तो अपने आप को अमानी समझे पर दूसरे का सम्मान करने में कोई उसके मन में आर्त ना हो। बड़े आनंद से दूसरे को मान देकर भगवान के स्वरूप का दर्शन करें। सही बात तो यह है कि *हम उसका सम्मान नहीं कर रहे उसके अंदर बैठे श्याम सुंदर का सम्मान कर रहे हैं*। गोस्वामी जी कहते हैं *सिया राम में सब जग जानी करहु प्रणाम जोरी जुग पानि*
पहलीबात *सहिष्णुता*
दूसरी बात *सरलता* तीसरी बात *अमानी ना मान देन*
और चौथी *कीर्तनीय सदा हरि*
यह चार लक्षण भक्त में होने चाहिए । भगवान की शोभा तो भक्त से ही है।

Katha Sutra:
The four characteristics of Bhakti.
Mahaprabhuji says that there are four elements of Bhakti.
‘Trunaadapi sunichena taror api sahishnuna |
Amanino maan dena keertaneeya sada Hari II’
A God surrendered person is very patient. The one’s who are totally surrendered to God have four different characteristics. First of all the one who is God surrendered sleeps well. The lovers cannot sleep. There is a difference between love and trust. Hariram Vyasji says;
‘Vyasa bharosey kunwari kay sovat paanva pasaar’.
Secondly, a Bhakta will smile for no reason. The one who has trust needs no reason to be happy. He is very patient. The one who has an unshakable refuge in the Lotus Feet of the Lord is very patient. These are the attributes of the devotee. So the first is patience.
Second is simplicity and the third is respectful towards others.
He is humble like a blade of grass and tolerant like a tree. He will not be anxious and will respect others. He will do the darshsan of the Lord in everyone. The reality is that behind this respect is the devotion to the Almighty seated within each and every one. Goswamiji says;
‘Siya Rama mayya sab jaga jaani I
Karahun Pranam jori juga paani II’
Therefore, the first is tolerant, second is humility, third is to be respectful towards others and the fourth most important is to remember the Lord or chant the Divine Name of God at all times.
These are the four characteristics of the Bhakta.
The Lord is adorned through His devotees!
